Scouting in Lebanon
The Lebanese Girl Guides Association was founded in 1937 and become part of WAGGGS in 1963 and part of the Arab region in 1966. The association through its six branches is dedicated to helping all girls build character and gain skills and in partnership with committed adult volunteers fulfill WAGGGS mission. The Lebanese Girl Scouts Association was founded in 1957 and become part of WAGGGS in 1963 and part of the Arab region in 1966. It is an educational non political and non governmental movement open to all girls and young women irrespective of cast, creed, colour or religion looking to make a difference in a girl’s life. The Lebanese Girl Scout provides it members with opportunities to develop strong values, leadership skills, social conscience through many fun and educational activities.

L’association des Eclaireuses du Scout Musulman au Liban started its movement in 1940 in collaboration with the Scout Movement. In 1970 it got separated from the Scout Movement and took its own license. L’association des Eclaireuses du Scout Musulman au Liban is spread all over the Lebanese territories and it is working hard on training the brownies, the scout girl and the guides.

The “Guides National Orthodox" Association has been established in 1971. Its aim is to train good lady citizen, to provide her with spiritual and national guidance, and to educate her in order to abide cooperation, discipline, and public servicing, further to become able to rely on herself. It tries to spread guiding instructions and principles according to the cultural, social and national needs and helping them to develop their capacities as responsible citizens, locally, in Arabic countries and internationally.
Association of Jarrah Guides was founded in Beirut in 1937 and recognized by the Lebanese government on the 16-5-1969 by decision no. 223.
The aim of the association is to spread the guiding mission and principle in accordance to the girls and society needs.

The Masharih Girl Scouts Association was established in 1990, Decision no. 493. The center of the Association is in the city of Beirut and it has branches in all districts.
Members of the Association are divided into:
A: Leaders: Establishing members, Honorary members, Volunteer, Leaders
B- Girls and young women: The Brownies, The Girl Guides, The Advanced Guides, The Rangers

The Association of Guides for National Development was founded on 6/9/1991. Its main objectives
and goals are the followings: the promotion of guiding principles between girls, education of young women and girls, their orientation in social, cultural and technical fields and helping them to develop their abilities as good citizens at the national, Arabic and international levels. Thus the social need has caused the concern of this youth generation left behind the war
that provoked dispersion, poverty, displacement and a generation of girls and boys who need a rehabilitation and a social, psychological and moral support and in other human stages.
Therefore, the Association of Guides of National Development was established. Nowadays there are branches in all the Lebanese cities.
